On Thursday December 15, 2011 a patrol deputy discovered a marijuana plant growing operation in Canyon Country. The deputy smelled a strong odor coming from a vacant house and heard a number of air conditioning units running even thought he weather was cold outside.
Upon entrance, the deputies discovered irrigation systems, fans and ventilation systems, complex lighting systems, altered electrical systems that presented a fire hazard, and a seven-ton air conditioning unit designed for a 10,000- square foot structure inside the 1,300-square foot house.
Deputies also found a schedule where different people would visit the house to tend to the plants.
There was an estimate of more than $75,000 in equipment which was confiscated, along with 200 to 300 pounds of marijuana plants worth between $1,500 and $5,000 per pound on the street.
