L.A. Fire Captain Faces Up To 3 Years in Prison For Attempted Drug Possession

Matthew Dane Phillipsen, 52, a Los Angeles city fire captain was arrested for allegedly trying to buy heroin from undercover police officers on Wednesday November 9, 2011 and charged with one count of attempted possession of a controlled substance on Monday November 14, 2011.
He is set to be arraigned Friday November 18, 2011 on a felony charge.
Phillipsen during a sting operation being conducted near Avenue 61 and Figueroa Street. He allegedly tried to purchase seven balloons of simulated heroin from undercover officers involved in the operation.
He was released on $10,000 bail.
If convicted, he faces up to three years behind bars.
